Elizabeth’s Crayons Partners With Mobile, Announces Event

Elizabeth’s Crayons, which collects coloring books, crayons, colored pencils and markers for children and families in the Mobile area, is partnering with the City of Mobile Community Affairs Department (CAD). The nonprofit’s founder, Malcolm Banks, is a graduate of the Mobile’s C251 Citizens Academy. Banks began the annual coloring book drive in 2021 to honor his late mother, Angeline Elizabeth Jones, who loved coloring. The goal is to collect 1,500 books this year. Mobile’s CAD will be accepting donations on behalf of Elizabeth’s Crayons in the atrium of Government Plaza through June 5. Additionally, a field day for parents and children is planned for June 8 at 9 a.m. at Stewart Memorial C.M.E Church. Supplies will be collected, and attendees will be able to connect to other community resources. For more details, contact Banks at email.
