ESAC Granted $50,000

The Eastern Shore Art Center (ESAC) in Fairhope has received a $50,000 Creative Places Arts Facilities grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, WKRG reported. It will be used to improve ESAC’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and expand its gift shop. The grant money will be added to a gift from one of ESAC’s major donors and a match from the Single Tax Corporation to fund the project. ESAC is working with local company Klarman + Day to update its gift shop to increase the flow of traffic from its galleries and entrance and will add a double ADA-compliant bathroom in the galleries and replace its handicap elevator. The Creative Places Arts Facilities program provides grants for the construction, renovation, restoration or enhancement of arts facilities across the state.
