Lafayette’s American Tour Events Set For April 7 In Mobile

Marquis Lafayette’s farewell American tour is taking place on April 7 in Mobile. Events begin at 10 a.m. with a procession from the waterfront to the History Museum of Mobile for a reception at noon. Following the reception, the museum will reenact Lafayette’s arrival at Fort Condé. At 2 p.m., a walking tour of Downtown Mobile will begin at Mardi Gras Park. Beginning at 7 p.m., the Friends of the Richards DAR House Museum will host a formal ball celebrating Lafayette at the Mobile Carnival Museum. Tickets for the ball are $75 per person. Ball attendees are encouraged to wear period costumes or formal attire. All events are open to the public.
