Idea Accelerator Applications Open

The Builders + Backers Idea Accelerator recently opened applications for Alabama residents to access up to $5,000 to help develop workforce solutions, Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced. The program is designed to make it easy for anyone to experiment with entrepreneurship by connecting local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to educational and final resources. Interested Alabamians can complete an application through December 30, and those with the best submissions will receive a $5,000 grant to test their ideas and be able to participate in a two-month virtual program beginning in January 2023. In addition to Builders + Backers, Idea Accelerator is supported by Heartland Forward, Walmart, the City of Birmingham Department of Innovation and Economic Opportunity, the City of Mobile and Mobile-based Innovation Portal.
