SBA Loans Available For Tornado Impacts

Applications are available for low-interest U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loans to help those impacted by the January 12 EF2 tornado in northern Mobile County, the Mobile County Commission announced. Multiple forms of SBA Business Disaster Assistance Loans are available for businesses, nonprofits, communities, homeowners and renters. The impacted area is in Mobile County Commission District 1. Applicants should use the “Electronic Loan Application” on SBA’s secure website and apply under SBA declaration No. 17759. After an initial credit check, applicants go through a verification process, and then a loan decision is made. Application deadlines vary from March 16 to October 16. The loans are in addition to assistance available from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
