BGCSA, Pointe Academy Name CEO

MOBILE, Ala. — The Mobile-based Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama (BGCSA) and Pointe Academy LLC have announced the appointment of Robert Kennedy, Jr. as their next CEO, effective July 18. The BGCSA Board of Directors conducted a national search with the assistance of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Talent Acquisition team. Kennedy succeeds Tim Wills, who resigned after six years as CEO. He brings 30 years of team leadership and budget management experience, having most recently served as chief marketing officer for Brett/Robinson Vacation Rentals in Gulf Shores. Prior to this role, Kennedy served as general manager of Global eCommerce for Bio-Rad Laboratories and in executive leadership roles at Sears Holding Co., Toys“R”Us and Harrah’s Entertainment. He is a former U.S. Navy officer who was stationed in Japan and Singapore, an alumnus of John S. Shaw High School in Mobile and a native of Prichard. He holds a BS in political science from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MS in leadership and human resource development from the Naval Postgraduate School and an MBS from Duke University.
