Downtown Mobile Alliance Names Economic Development Director

The Downtown Mobile Alliance has named Ellis G. Foster, Jr. as its new economic development director tasked with continuing advancing investment, development, job creation and long-term growth in Downtown Mobile. Foster brings a background in economic development strategy, urban planning, real estate brokerage and development. He also has experience working with government agencies, private industry and community stakeholders. Foster is to focus on strengthening public-private partnerships, supporting real estate development, engaging investors and property owners, and aligning economic development strategies with the alliance’s long-term vision for Downtown Mobile. Foster is a Mobile native and graduate of Alabama A&M University with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning and Construction Management. He has spent more than a decade working across public service, real estate and community leadership roles. In addition to his federal and campaign experience, he has been a real estate agent and owner of ELUXE Realty and currently serves in several key leadership roles for the Mobile Chamber of Commerce, Mobile Industrial Development Board, Southern Rail Commission and Mobile Association of Realtors.
