Building Risk Communication Skills Workshop Announced

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Gulf of Mexico Disaster Preparedness Response Center, Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and University of South Alabama Center of Disaster Healthcare Preparedness are hosting Building Risk Communication Skills on September 10 at 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The location is the NOAA center at 7344 Zeigler Blvd. in Mobile. The workshop aims to motivate attendees toward action to reduce risk and help them develop new skills to better connect with diverse audiences. It will also allow attendees to practice their new skills, apply them to their own risk communication strategies and collaborate with peers on local risk communication challenges. The organizers said responses to questions during registration will help them customize the training to be reflective of local risk communication issues. For more information, contact Steff Fauver of NOAA at email.
