Mobile Bay National Estuary Program Hires

The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program has hired Michael Roberts as program manager and Shemika Brown as Community Engagement Program lead. Roberts will be instrumental in the development and implementation of the next Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan for Alabama’s estuaries and coast. He is responsible for Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan development and implementation and the building and management of partnerships with Mobile Bay stakeholders. He is a graduate of Auburn University, where he obtained a BS in civil engineering, and Johns Hopkins University, where he received an MS in environmental sciences and policy. Brown is responsible for building and supporting the Community Action Committee, engaging diverse communities, providing program development, and educating audiences about issues affecting the Alabama coast and activities being undertaken to mitigate stress on coastal resources. She is a graduate of Alabama State University with a BA in political science and a 2005 graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery with a master’s degree in public administration.
