SALT Environmental Events Announced

SPANISH FORT, Ala. — The South Alabama Land Trust (SALT) of Baldwin County and the Osprey Initiative and JubileeScape, both of Mobile, are looking for volunteers to help in a “floating cleanup” on October 22 at 9 a.m.-noon at Meaher State Park in Spanish Fort. The event is “bring your own kayak/canoe,” but some canoe rentals will be available by reservation at phone: 251-990-5004. Registration is required. Additionally, as part of SALT’s Native Habitat Program, SALT will host in-person gatherings to watch Zoom sessions by Dr. Douglas Tallamy, author of Bringing Nature Home and other books that are said to have changed the conversation about gardening in America, on October 28 at noon and November 14 at 5:30 p.m. A group discussion will follow.
