Daphne To Expand Justice Center

DAPHNE, Ala. — Daphne city officials and the Chief of Police have been working on a multimillion-dollar project to expand the city’s nearly 30-year-old Justice Center, NBC15 reports. Mayor Robin Lejeune said the city has hired an architect and is developing a construction plan for the building on Highway 98. There will be more space for both the court and police. LeJeune said that, while the city council has set aside $1 million in reserves, several million more will be needed for construction. Additionally, more officers are to be hired. If all goes well, construction could begin by next year and be complete by 2024 or 2025.
