West Mobile Library Updates

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced the opening of the new “Teen Space” at West Regional Library. The intent of the area is to offer young people a dedicated space for homework, research, reading, entertainment and creating friendships. “These types of safe, enriching environments are critical for our young people, and this is a great free, after-school option in the West Mobile area,” he commented.
West Regional Library will also be hosting a new traveling exhibition designed to educate on money. Thinking Money for Kids is an interactive multimedia experience intended for children ages 7-11 and made possible via a competitive national grant from the American Library Association and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Investor Education Foundation. The Mobile Public Library (MPL) branch is one of 50 sites selected to host Thinking Money for Kids on its two-year tour of the U.S. The exhibition will be open to the public during regular library hours, and MPL staff will be hosting public events that coincide with its theme.
