Infirmary Health Adds Physician To Neuroscience Team

Dr. Christopher Southwood recently joined Mobile Infirmary and Infirmary Health’s Neuroscience Center of Excellence. Southwood is board-certified in neurocritical care, vascular neurology and neurology and is fellowship-trained in stroke neurology and endovascular surgical neuroradiology. He will play a role in the continued development of The Joint Commission Certified Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center at Mobile Infirmary. Southwood earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has completed fellowships in vascular neurology at Stanford University, as well as neurocritical care and enfolded neurodiagnostic training and neuroendovascular care with the Medical College of Wisconsin. Most recently, he has served as an assistant professor for the Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Neurology. During his professorship, he received multiple recognitions for his excellence as a resident teacher. He is board-certified in neurocritical care, vascular neurology and neurology with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Southwood will see patients through referral at Diagnostic and Medical Clinic in Mobile.
