Infirmary Health Performs Novel AFiB Procedure

The Infirmary Health Heart & Vascular Institute is now offering advanced treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib) using the FARAPULSE Pulsed Field Ablation System from Boston Scientific. Dr. Jordan Chaisson and Dr. Robert Robichaux recently performed the first such procedure in Baldwin County at Thomas Hospital. It uses non-thermal electric fields to selectively ablate heart tissue, providing a safer alternative to traditional thermal ablation methods. AFib, the most common type of arrhythmia, can lead to serious complications like stroke and heart failure.
