Springhill Medical Center Heart Program Again Earns Three Stars

Springhill Medical Center has continued to earn the three-star isolated Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) surgery rating and three stars for the Multiprocedural Overall (all analyzed procedures + aortic valve + mitral valve +/-CABG) category. Approximately 2%-4% of hospital participants receive three stars in more than one surgical category. Springhill Medical Center has maintained the three-star rating for Overall CABG surgery since June 2023. The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) gave the highest rating based on patient outcomes between July 2022 and June 2025, marking the program’s fourth consecutive three-star achievement for overall CABG quality and two for two for Multiprocedural Overall, which has only been rated twice. This STS comprehensive rating system allows for comparisons regarding the quality of cardiac surgery among hospitals across the country. The latest data analysis for CABG surgery includes more than 1,000 hospital participants from all 50 states, as well as internationally.
