Thomas Hospital Awards Nursing Assistant

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Sue Murrell, nursing assistant at Colony Rehabilitation Hospital, on the third floor of Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, was recently awarded the ZINNIA Award for exceptional care by a nursing assistant. Murrell was nominated by her husband and a patient, who noted Murrell’s commitment to go beyond what is expected and her quick, kind response to whatever is needed. The ZINNIA Award is tailored to nursing assistants and is based on the national DAISY Award, which acknowledges registered nurses for their exceptional nursing care. Nominations for both awards are received from patients.
