iHeartmedia Chooses Local Counsel

iHeartMedia recently chose Mobile-based attorney Gabe Fleet as its new executive vice president of business affairs and chief music licensing counsel, AL.com reports. The media conglomerate said Fleet will lead its business affairs team and focus on strategic deals and relationships with the company’s music and entertainment partners. He will also be responsible for business and legal affairs company-wide and “spearhead the company’s music licensing strategy,” including oversight of industry and performance licenses. Fleet previously was a partner at the Greenberg Traurig law firm, specializing in music licensing, original content, intellectual property, technology, regulatory compliance matters and more. Prior to studies at the Vanderbilt University School of Law, he worked as a professional drummer. He is to begin January 11, 2021.
