Gulf Distributing To Move Into Old Press-Register Building

MOBILE, Ala. — The Press-Register offices on Water Street in Mobile have been sold to Adams Street Property, LLC, and a local beer distributor plans to lease a portion of the building from the new owner for its corporate headquarters, AL.com reports. Gulf Distributing Holdings, LLC, currently headquartered on Moffett Road in Mobile, will take occupancy after Advance Local, LLC, vacates the property, which is expected in 2023. Gulf Distributing employs approximately 1,200 and operates five beverage distribution companies that service Alabama as far north as Huntsville, two distributors in Mississippi and one distributor in northwest Florida. The property, with 75,000 ft2 of class-A office space and 125,000 ft2 of warehouse space, is to be renovated before being marketed for further leases. The newspaper will continue to be printed on the presses at the Water Street site. The seller, Advance Local, moved its offices for the Press-Register and digital platform AL.com to 18 South Royal Street approximately eight years ago.
