Massive Logistics Park Breaks Ground

Ground has broken on the South Alabama Logistics Park off I-10 near the Theodore Dawes exit in South Mobile County, Team Mobile and Burton Property Group announced. The development is to attract warehouse, distribution and manufacturing operations. Burton will construct speculative sites, as well as offer a build-to-suit option. Features include class-A industrial warehouse and distribution space for the growing number of shippers and light manufacturers that need proximity to either the Port of Mobile or Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley. Phase 1 of the 1,300-acre park will include construction of more than 6 million ft2 of space. The project comes as a result of a three-year collaborative effort between Burton and Team Mobile, which is made up of Alabama Power Co., the Alabama State Port Authority, the City of Mobile, the Mobile Airport Authority, the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, Mobile County, Spire and the University of South Alabama.
