Chart Industries Opens Second Facility In Mobile County

Chart Industries, Inc. recently opened its second cryogenic tank manufacturing facility in Mobile County, christening it “Teddy 2” because of its location in Theodore, Business Alabama reports. The location offers easy access to rail and water transportation, which the company says will translate to lower freight costs. Chart makes tanks for energy and industrial gas markets, and the new facility has the capacity to make tanks with a 1,700-m3 cryogenic storage capacity. “The tanks manufactured at this site will be used for propellant storage for the aerospace industry, hydrogen and [liquid natural gas] storage for marine and power, gas by rail, and for many other applications in the sciences and decarbonization industries,” the company said in announcing its new facility. The facility from the Atlanta-based company is expected to provide nearly 100 jobs.
