St. Jude Fishing Tournament Underway

Joy of Life and Fishing Chaos are kicking off a two-event fishing tournament to raise money for the nonprofit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The “Season Long Red Snapper” tournament (currently taking place) and a two-day multispecies tournament (on August 15th-16th) offer a snapper top prize of $3,000, with a second-place prize of $1,500 for each of the following species: red snapper, bee liner, king mackerel, speckled trout, redfish and flounder. As well as a cash snapper award, the category will have an “average joe” snapper award that fishers will win if their snapper weighs half of the winning snapper’s weight. Award presentations will be at the Flora-Bama Yacht Club on August 16. Weigh stations will be at the Orange Beach Marina, Dauphin Island Marina and Hooked Up Bait and Tackle. Tickets may be purchased through the event website or at Fishing Chaos.
