Real Estate Update

According to AL.com, Off Dock Services has added another floor to its offices in the Waterman-Smith building at 61 St. Joseph Street in Downtown Mobile, according to Josh W. Hall of CRE Mobile, who represented the landlord. The shipping and warehousing company has leased the entire sixth floor after leasing the entire seventh floor in August. The Waterman-Smith building is a 70,000-ft2 office complex built in 1947. The Mobile Area Water and Sewer System paid $200,000 for a 2,289-ft2 building at 4725 Moffett Road in Mobile, according to Chris Harle of White-Spunner Realty, who handled the transaction. In Gulf Shores, construction is underway on the 257-room Embassy Suites Hotel on 2 acres on West Beach Boulevard west of Alvin’s Island in Gulf Shores, and the projected completion date is late 2025, according to city officials. The total cost of the mixed-use project just off Highway 59 is estimated at $85 million and will include a restaurant, streetfront retail, a full-service spa, an indoor pool and fitness center, a 7,800-ft2 ballroom and 11,800 ft2 of conference space.
