MCI To Host 18th GO Run

USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute (MCI) has announced the return of the GO Run, now in its 18th year, set for September 27 at Hancock Whitney Stadium at the University of South Alabama (USA) in Mobile. The run raises awareness and funds for gynecologic cancer research, with proceeds supporting efforts to improve early detection, prevention and treatment options for women across the Gulf Coast. The event is presented by the Catranis Family Foundation and includes a 5K race starting at 8 a.m., followed by a 1-mi. fun run at 9 a.m. and an awards ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Participants may run solo or register as part of a team, with prizes to be awarded in several categories, including “Highest Fundraising Team,” “Most Team Spirit,” “Best Dressed Team” and “Largest Team.” Participants and spectators are invited to hang out after the race and visit sponsor booths. There will also be a children’s area with inflatables. Funds raised through the GO Run stay local, supporting the ongoing research conducted by scientists and physicians at MCI.
